LAGONDANET
INTRODUCTION

<>I bought a 1980 Aston Martin Lagonda on impulse
in
1995, and endeavoured to use it on a daily basis. In the first
six
years it covered about 60,000 miles with me, much of which was
commuting
in heavy traffic between Luton and London. The car was inspected
by the Factory Works Service Department shortly after purchase, and
they
carried out any necessary remedial work. Regular maintenance and
servicing was entrusted to them, the intention being to make the
car as reliable as possible, and with their help this was
achieved.
These cars are not worth a lot monetarily, but they are a pleasure to
drive
and I would recommend ownership to anyone. My enthusiasm for the
car led me to join the Aston Martin Owners Club (AMOC) and the Lagonda
Club. If you have a Lagonda, membership of AMOC, or of both
clubs, is worthwhile. My interest, or is it obsession, also
developed
into a project to compile a complete register of these cars, and
resulted
in this web site. In
the summer of 2001, I sadly parted company with 13049, but a year later
I bought it back, and ended its brief sojourn in Cornwall. Now I
no longer use it every day, but only when I have the opportunity.
