Just took the car out and when starting from a traffic signal, depress the throttle and the revs don't increase and the car creeps across the road. Once it picks up it's fine. Any ideas please? |

Possibly to do with the automatic ignition advance/retard system.
Too complex to go into here but at idle, the engine runs in quite a retarded mode and this is dictated by the closing of a micro switch contact on the throttle linkage, just in front of number four carburettor, operated by a lever attached to the throttle connecting rod.
If that is out of adjustment or the switch is broken or the wiring to the two solenoids by the air pump has a problem, the engine may run in retarded mode and not pick up properly at all.
The drivers handbook explains this in detail and also how to test it.

Hi David, Ref your response Wed 22 August 2018. My car does not appear to have a micro switch contact on the throttle linkage. It was running fine and now it's really down on power when you put your foot down. Any thoughts? |

Finally fixed the throttle response problem, it appeared to be the fuel pump. If you have not seen the pump, it's very small yet must feed all the carbs. Many thanks to David who spent a considerable amount of time on the phone helping Jo, who worked on the car. Now the car looks great and runs great. Over here in California we lost our only Aston Martin Lagonda technician, John who now works for Aston Corporate in irvine. Huge loss. |

I just replaced the fuel pressure regulator on 372. My car was the first example with such a device, so if your's is earlier than that, you can scratch that off your list. _________________ 13372 |
