heh..
and i sold my 12k mile lagonda for $21k 4 or 5 years ago..
it was perfect..
i'll add here and make a separate post that i still have some parts left over from the crashed lagonda i had..
like dashboard cover, transmission tunnel, instrument cluster cover and some electrical parts..
AND, all those latching relays that work sometimes and don't work sometimes, i know WHY and how to fix that issue..
right now i am negotiating on a 2000 corniche.. a little distressed but..... _________________ Bill Morrow, kept by parrots

Bill,
A 2000 Corniche can be a huge problem. The hydraulics for the top can easily exceed the value of the car. Email me and I can send you several articles I have published in the RROC USA magazine on the subject. _________________ 13372 |

thanks, RRV...
if top hydraulics might be the only issue, they don't worry me so much since i just replaced all the TOP hydraulic cylinders in my '97 SL600.. i think 10 or 12 cylinders.. three in the header and at least 3 or 4 on each side..
only difficult part was when the top had to be partially erected with my arms in the scissor part R&Ring the main cylinders..
i think mercedes wanted about $7k or more for the job even with my negotiated discount at the dealer i use.. which would, like my '01 S600, make that car a lost cause on a cost to repair/retail value basis..
there is a cylinder rebuilder in the seattle area i think that does a hot swap..
for sure, not trivial but not beyond my abilities when faced with that cost.. _________________ Bill Morrow, kept by parrots
