When I open the driver door neither the interior lights or the puddle lights come on. However when I open any other door all the interior lights and puddle lights come on. Any ideas would be appreciated?

probably the switch in the doorpost doesn't work. it should create an earth connection when the door is open. Most likely nothing else than oxidation. Get the switch out, clean all contacts and make sure it has a good clean metal connection with the car body. It is located in the top of the front (A pillar) doorpost. At least that is where the front door switches are on my car....
