I understand planning is already underway.
Only 3 wedges went in 2014 but there were a very large number of Astons and it was a great day out.
http://www.amoc.org/forum/index.php?topic=28026.100
2016 is the 40th anniversary of the design and launch of the wedge and this event might be a good opportunity to celebrate the fact.
Edwin 'Ed' Cunningham the organiser says:
As we know it's a bit of a milestone for the Wedge I'd like to have a good turn out at Burghley with a dedicated Wedge Zone.......

Thanks for opening the thread Roger,
I can indeed confirm that Burghley is under planning with the venue booked for the 3rd July 2016.
It is my intention to build on the success of 2014 and attract a greater field,in 2014 we had 246 Aston's on display and managed to raise £11,132.20 for charity.
Not a bad effort for starters but I will entice you in the knowledge that 2016 will be bigger, brighter and hopefully even better than the first conception.
Its very much a case of you'll want to be there so please make a note of the date and get it on those forward planners.
I will update the forum regularly and maybe in the new year we can start an attendance list in our joint attempt to have a remarkable day and in doing so celebrate another milestone for the Lagonda "Wedge".
You've now been warned so don't miss the opportunity to be there on display as I will promise you a special day out…………..javascript:emoticon('')
Take a look at a few pictures for the last event to get the feel of things at
Burghley.

Steve was my official photographer and will be again for 2016 so pleas take a peep at his images by visiting the website and clicking Motorsport and all will be revealed.
Hope you like what you see and that it fires your interest to join us all.
If any of you guys have any questions please just shoot me a mail as I will
be pleased to assist,
edwind.cunninham@btinternet.com
Cheers,
Ed. |

We now have 106 cars registered and thats before I officially open up for business……...
Of that 106 we only have 3 Wedgies registered so far and as I have a very prominent place in mind for you all which comfortably accommodates 10/12 Lagonda's it would be nice if we could round up a few more.
I'll leave it in your capable hands as its a great place I have in mind and we wouldn't want infiltrators on the Wedgie turf now would we.
So just fire over a mail to register your car and in doing so preserve your little peace of grass that is forever England.

Hi all,
I'm sure by now many of you will know that we are running our friendly Burghley House Aston Martin Event again in partnership with the AMOC on Sunday the 3rd of July at Burghley House at Stamford (PE9 3JY).
The cost to attend and display your Aston Martin is £10.00 per car which is payable on they gate,in return for your entry fee you will receive a 2 for the price of 1 concessions voucher for entry to the House for use if you choose to include the tour during your visit.
Entry will be from 9.30 am via the Barnack Road Gatehouse as before with the park remaining open for your enjoyment until dusk, our event how ever will close circa 5pm.
All as before but on a much greater scale which includes full Factory Support as offered by Andy Palmer himself,Andy too has readily signed up to attend what will be a very interesting and enjoyable day.
I won't give to many secrets away at this stage but I can tell you that there will also be many trade related stands and other attractions on display for you enjoyment as 20 or so companies have stepped forward to make up what is looking like a very colourful field that covers the pre war era through to the modern day models.
Last time we attracted 246 Aston's on a day that unfortunately clashed with the Silverstone Classic but no such clashes are envisaged this time so it would be great if we could push on from that 246 that attended last time and get nearer the 400 mark, there's plenty of room so the skies the limit really.
It's very important that you register your interest in attending with me please so that it affords me the time to plan for sufficient staff and stewarding to make for a safe and successful event,to register please email me at.
edwind.cunningham@btinternet.com
The day will be fantastic I'm sure and in being so it will help benefit the chosen charities of the day, they can be seen by visiting my Virgin Money Giving page that has been set up to receive donations and further proceeds from the event.
http://uk.virginmoneygiving.com/Burghleyastonmartin2016
The Event will have its Raffle and Auction during the afternoon where many superb and generous donations may be won or bid upon.
Currently I have in hand a couple of Annual Services to any Aston Martin Model along with a couple of outstanding Mini Breaks one of which is a 3 night stay on a B & B basis including afternoon Tea in a Superior room at the wonderful Loch Ness Lodge that sits on the edge of the Loch.
www.Loch-Ness-Lodge.com
Another fine donation kindly put forward by Gary Ungless is his superb Glass topped V12 Coffee table, many may have seen it at the NEC classic car show recently where it was on display on the clubs stand.
Lots of other goodies to be had but I'll keep them all a bit secret currently,I will how ever drop in with further donations offers and event updates along the way so for know please consider registration for this exciting and enjoyable Event open and I very much look forward to receiving your bookings.
Any further questions please just shout up as I'll be pleased to assist whether its regarding accommodation for those that want to make a weekend of it in this beautiful and historic market town or just a few directions.
All the very best,
Ed.

Thanks Roger for exporting over my post, most appreciated.
As you Guys can see this still far and distant Event is starting to gather pace
as the New Year approaches.
We are currently stuck on 4 Wedgies that have registered but we really need at least 10 for the hallowed turf I have in mind for your display to celebrate
the Lagonda's birthday.
Surely we can find another 6 just to allow me to sleep at night and close off
that area of the field as Wedgeland.
Come on lets find the missing few.
All the best
Ed.
Look forward to being inundated, edwind.cunningham@btinternet.com |
