sold for 44.400 euro including premium & vat
appeared to be in same condition as when we last saw the car in 2012
does need a good machine polish but nice car though
they talked about this car this morning in the news on France's #1 national radio, the Bongo connection of course |

This had to be a good deal - great provenance, condition and a desirable specification with just enough gold and Tickford-equipment to make it a symbol of its time and owner, yet without being over the top. _________________ Victor P.B.

I was told by someone at the auction:
Quote
I was yesterday in Lyon. For your information, I can tell you the hammer price was €37.000 + auction fee for #13419.
I have worked years ago, for M. Edgar Bensoussan, who was AML importer for France in the eighties and nineties. I know this car because it has spent 3 years looking for a knew owner in British Motors Paris when M. Bongo wanted to sell it !
The price is amazing for me because I think the car is not as good as the auction house is telling. When I saw this car in 2011, I saw some scratches inside and outside, nothing has been done since. Apparently no mechanics have been done for the past 4 years also. The folder of the auction house was totally empty with "carte grise" (registration card) not changed since the previous auction (artcurial) + insurance date and "french MOT" not valid for months!
I didn't want to have a very bad surprise, so I preferred not to raise my hand! I'll wait to find my Lagonda!

Thank you Roger. Looks can be deceiving. I was considering bidding and even called Artcurial (which were very unhelpful with details). _________________ Victor P.B.
