In short, remove switch panel just by gently pry a flat piece of metal e.g. skrewdriver under it than stick your hand through the hole and find and release 4 wing nuts M6 roughly in each card-corner. Also under innercap of hand rest is another small bolt. Succes

Mine is a series 4 so there is no switch panel.
There is nothing obvious to remove to get your hand inside on this door card
Any suggestions? |

Harry means the flat panel in the center just above the door pull.
If it is the same as S2/S3 (which I think it is) then it will be retained at the top by some metal lugs and so has to be levered out from the bottom edge. Do this ideally with a wide, flat, plastic trim-removal tool or a steel rule which you should be able to get under the bottom rear corner. The panel is made from thin ply wood so try to be gentle. When you come to put it back, grease the two metal clips so it is easier next time. If someone has repainted the leather in-situ you may find this piece has stuck to the surrounding leather and so this will need easing apart first.
One screw in the door pull and then four M6 wing nuts inside the door.

good luck!

Many thanks,
Easy when you know how!
Incidentally the reason I needed to strip the doors was to replace a central locking motor.
I brought the old one to my local Opel dealer who identified it as the same as those fitted to the Ascona C. Sadly no longer available off Opel.
I will make do with a universal one |
