The PRV has very good reputation but I think this book is all about looks, no?

The Tagora had the PRV engine (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/PRV_engine) which by all accounts is excellent for relaxed driving and motorway cruising, it's one of four cars on the list with that engine - Tagora, Delorean, Renault Safrane and the Volvo 262c.

Not only the Safrane ( I got 4 : an anemic 2.2, a V6, and 2 fantastic Biturbo ), but also the R30 and the R25; Peugeot 604 ; Alpine A310 , GT and A610...
As my father was Talbot dealer, I drove several Tagoras, but not the PRV. The launch was so catastrophic that the first cars were hugely discounted one month later...

No its based on more than looks, using the Nissan Serena as an example, he doesn't really say anything about the looks just ridicules it for it's 0-60 time, the 2.3L diesel takes 27 seconds which is slow by any standards but the 2L petrol will do it in under 12 seconds which for a basic people carrier isn't too bad. Considering the diesel only does 3mpg more than the petrol I know which one I'd chose. If you need a cheap people carrier you could do a lot worse than the Serena.

Vincent, there are quite a few more that had the PRV engine, it's only those 4 I'm looking for at the moment. The list below is from wikipedia, so anything from sports cars to people carriers.
Alpine A310 (October 1976)
Alpine A610 (1991)
Alpine GT/GTA (1984)
Citroën XM (1989)
DeLorean DMC-12 (1981–1983)
Dodge Monaco (1990–1992)
Eagle Premier (1988–1992)
Helem V6
Lancia Thema (1984-1992)
Peugeot 504 coupé/cabriolet (1974/1975)
Peugeot 505 (July 1986)
Peugeot 604 (March 1975)
Peugeot 605 (1990)
Renault 25 (1984)
Renault 30 (March 1975)
Renault Espace
Renault Laguna
Renault Safrane
Talbot Tagora (1980)
UMM Alter II (90's)
Venturi (all models)
Volvo 242GLT/6/244GLT/6/245GLT/6c/262/262C/264/265 (October 1974)
Volvo 760 GLE (February 1982)
Volvo 780 (1985)
Volvo 960 (rare 1991 models)

If I understand, you're searching about a nice Tagora, with or without PRV engine ? I think less than 1000 PRV Tagoras were built....

Maybe this could help you :

I may say it now : an awful car indeed, nothing to compare with a Lag'...

I've already asked in the simca-talbot group, found a Lada for the project and there is one person with a Tagora that is in need of a restoration. It does't have to be a PRV Tagora, I don't think there are any left on the road in the UK, but if it's a restoration project then it makes it a bit different to the rest of the cars.
