The first picture shows all the components that were stripped down for powder coat, black finish, prior to sending off.
The new steel pieces in the centre are the replacement wheel arch liner
panels, we have them made in stainless steel and then powder coated, this way they will not corrode and not react if touching any aluminium parts.
The second picture shows the new left front engine bay tray and fuse box plate that were re made due to the originals being too corroded to refit. |

The cam covers, air box and engine breather have all been powder coated.
I had them done by Rikki Cann as I could not find anyone locally with the correct colour and texture of powder.
As important as getting the colour right is, it is also vital that no grit is allowed to enter the engine. The firm Rikki uses carry out the blast cleaning with a water soluble media (soda blast) for items such as this so there is no risk of ingress into the engine of abrasive blast media, esecially from the breather unit.
It is always difficult to judge the correct colour, the camera has something to do with it but the shade does look different when in isolation.
As a whole, when all is assembled, it looks good and one must be careful when comparing 30 year old engine paint finishes to brand new - heat oil and fuel vapours all take their toll on paint colours.
On a different note, I was obviously not watching my captions:
The picture that says "Using a timing marker to establish TDC" should read: "Using a dial guage to establish TDC". - Sorry about this

Very interesting restoration. Done as a restoration should be done!
I would like to know if this car will be ready for next summer?
Is it owned by a member of our informal club?
Will the owner attend the Lagonda meet next August?
If so, This car/owner could be entered in the Survivor Trophy list of possible runner up to winn this class.

We also decided to connect the repaired instrument pack (mouse damage plus the usual problems) to 13150 - and that works too.
