I would suggest that this topic shall be for discussing the future of our meetings!
Everybody can suggest how he would like a future meeting to be and where we should meet!
Broad discussion = better meeting
To start I would suggest to discuss where we will meet in the next years. My suggestion, but anyone should post his ideas:
2013: England Please give us a date as soon as possible
2014: Luxembourg Olivier are you ready to organise it?
2015: Jubilee! The 10th Lagondafest! Should we do it in Switzerland again?
2016: France? Or? |

Good idea Zoran.
I am happy to go along with the majority.
Jubilee in CH sounds good to me.

Well I think what we all like most about these meetings apart from the fine company and our cars are the differences between each event which reflect the personality of the organiser(s) and their country. All have been enjoyable because of this diversity.
That said we have our preferences and some common ones are listed below. Feel free to disagree or add your own. It is hard to satisfy everyone completely all of the time but we are a very flexible special group of people are we not?
Arriving Friday and leaving Monday
Staying at one hotel rather than changing hotels
Being one group and not several small groups
Not overly car related. Some car events but not all
Consideration for partners. It is after all a social event
Historical & cultural visits
Music
Walks
Having time to relax and talk to others
Not too many tours/events
Not overly ambitious programme for our cars
No driving after dinner
Provision of a mechanic
Sunshine
Copious amounts of alcohol
Not too early starts. It’s a holiday.
Reasonable return time to hotel before evening activity
Affordable
Fixed inclusive up-front cost
Designated parking together
A date for 2013?

I am quite confident that the 2014 event organisation is already fully finalised by our friend Olivier. Remain to discuss the 2015 edition. Switzerland and/or the Northern Italian Lakes gets my vote.
See you all very soon now... tic tac tic tac... the countdown has begun, are your cars ready ??? Mine isn't ! It hasn't moved an inch since it was parked up after the long drive back from Lagondafest 2012 ! Ouch, let's get on with it... |

Same thing with my car! Not good! I will take it out today and it will have to drive every day now!
Italy would be great, too! But who would organise it? |

Let's discuss this at the bar at Wyke Hill shall we ?
I know the Northern Italian lakes area quite well & have friends there so wouldn't object organising it although I am aware that this may clash with your plans to do the jubilee in CH so no probs if N.I. is pushed back till 2016 or 2017, the reliability of our cars can only improve in the meantime, well hopefully... |

There could have been more communication. We should have had a printed schedule of times and events, so it was clear to everyone in advance.
The Prescott Hill visit was ill-defined. We were not, as thought, able to visit the museum or take our cars up the hill which was disappointing.
I think it was a mistake to split the group at Waddesdon. We should have stayed together for the duration.
Guilty M'Lud.
Have Mercy!
But there were certainly high points and as someone else has said these events are really made by the people/excellent company involved. Long may that continue.

Only those who don't do anything, don't do anything wrong.
You've put most of the points to the screen allready Roger.
There should have been something written given to all of us. At least some addresses. I guess we lost Ruedi because of that, and Michael got lost because of that, too.
The visit of Prescott Hill Climb was not well timed and to schedule the visit to Bicester village on a sunday afternoon was also a little bit problematic.
Yes, it is mainly about the people, so making little groups out of our group, either during the day or at the bar is not ideal, too.
Driving together is also much more impressive then everybody fights for himself and even without an address where to go to.
The visit to Aston Martin factory was an absolute highlight.
That said: It have been wonderful couple of days and I enjoyed myself very much! I lost 2,5 Kg on this trip, too. What proves that drinking alcohol doesn't contribute to gaining weight!
Looking forwar for Luxembourg! |

As I organized the belgian meeting some years ago, I confirm the timetable is difficult to follow, and the huge group we have to move with our massive cars in a close time, is always a challenge. As I presume not one of us is owning a travel agency to make everything right in any case ( and even when it is well organized, you always get the risk some sandstones appear...), I congratulate everyone who dared to organize a LAGV8 event, which brings no profit, except the real pleasure to have done it for the organizer !
I hope very much to join next year, when my trucks page will be turned... _________________ Welcome to Paradise ! (FRONT 242)
