Can anyone tell me if removing the transmission pan to drain the gearbox and change the filter also drains the gearbox cooler? Or does a complete fluid change require an additional step, like disconnecting one of the lines to the cooler?
Thanks for any assistance, past or present.

I would have guessed that due to the high location of the cooler, there was a good chance that it was drained too. However, I know I put about 6 litres or so in mine when I did the oil change and filter so I guess not since the capacity is 8.5 litres.
However, unless the oil is burnt or contaminated, I wouldn't worry about that extra bit.

Thinking about it, that much could remain in the torque convertor.
I have checked my DBSV8 workshop manual and there is no mention of disconnecting the trans oil cooler pipes.
