I noticed some specificities to certain markets :
Additional rear lights inside the boot : Europe ( not on S4 )
No rear fog lights : US cars
Side lights : US & Middle east
'Aston Martin' carb airbox : US cars ;the bonnet has a different curve
Fire extinguisher : Middle east
No roof aerial on cars with Everflex roof.
Rear plate chromed lights : US cars ( with holes for the plate in boot ) _________________ Welcome to Paradise ! (FRONT 242)

Tim,
I mentioned EUROPE for these cars. (Not on US cars nor Middle East cars )
But US cars get chrome plate lights. _________________ Welcome to Paradise ! (FRONT 242)

Already there - 13284 onwards. Its buried in the long list.
Re the boot lights, I recall this was an addition required for type approval. It got a mention in the first Autocar test report. Was it the whole of UK/Europe?
Did the US cars start from 13284 (1983) onwards? I assume this is the point they had approval. Were there any US cars before this point? I have always assumed the boot lock moved to the left to accommodate a US shape number plate - but this happened at 13218 (1980?). |

Jonathan,
About the additional boot lights, the european reglementation mentions that rear lights must be visible when the boot is open; the only solution was to put additional lights inside the boot (solved with the S4).
You are right with 13284 and up for the US emission cars (US-83).
Some cars were exported ( personal export ) to US before :
My 13034 for example, and 13037 too. _________________ Welcome to Paradise ! (FRONT 242)

Jonathan, are you still working on the modification list?
What about your questions from Nov 03? _________________ Christoph |

I think it will always be a work in progress.
Happy for anyone to chip in with any more information on this thread which I can update the the post above. I recently noticed Puddleduck have an alloy which is listed as 'Centra'. It is the one from the S3. This makes me think I have the Centra and BBS descriptions the wrong way round.
Can anyone confirm the manufacturer of the S3 wheel? I think both 'Centra' and 'BBS' refer to manufacturers - although the pepperpot is manufactured by GKN.. |

Centra was acquired by RONAL, which is a swiss company; BBS is run by a liquidator.
The S4 alloys were made by WOLFRACE (7JKx16) and tyres are AVON Turbospeed CR 27 (255/60R16) _________________ Christoph |

Thanks Vincent and Christoph.
I have swapped BBS and Centra over and added in 'pepperpot' against the S2 1984 revisions.
I am still not 100% sure 'BBS' applies to the pepperpots - could it be to do with the two versions of the Centra - machined or plain face? Remember this came from the owners manual..
Christoph - do you know if the Wolfrace wheels were specific to the Lagonda? Do they have a name? |

Mr. Wolf says, that the british company WOLFRACE has supplied wheels to Aston (The german company WOLF RACING is only active in motorsports for FORD).
Please try www.wolfrace.com and you´ll find alloy wheels for Lagonda and perhaps they can answer your questions. _________________ Christoph |

It has occurred to me that the BBS alloys are the ones fitted to the Tickford cars. I am changing the reference to the pepperpots to GKN 'Pepperpots' since Centra and BBS are namufacturers rather than the specific model of wheel.
Ah well, as long as someone reads the thread to this point it will all make sense.. |
