Sorry Roger, for a moment I must have thought I was on the AMOC forum..

The radio in question is a Blaupunkt Berlin SQR 83. At first I thought the thing on the gooseneck was a graphic equaliser, but it is actually the LCD display and controls. It was very high end.

Since there is no fader on the car, either it was fitted from new, or a new wooden facia was made.

One was on eBay UK in September and since eBay will delete the listing, I hope the owner doesn't mind that I have made an archive of his photos:

Yes that's the one in Raf's car I believe. First time I've seen one. And reminiscent I think of the earlier switching designs in the car? Must see if I can find some other pics.

Are you able to say which original radio (music system) was installed in each?

FYI Factory records do not say
13602 has installed Blaupunkt New York SOR 05
but in glove box there is a manual for Sony XR-7500.

Any ideas anyone?

The pictures I have aren't great but from what I can see of them, both 13642 and 13645 appear to have Blaupunkt Memphis SQR 88 units fitted.

I would guess that if fitted, the Sony unit is a later addition.

I've seen suspiciously many cars (13150, 13208, 13193 among others) fitted with the very expensive Clarion G-80 rack, either in the front or in the back. This might have been a bespoke Tickford option along with the bar, trays and TV-stuff some cars have. If you drove the most expensive car in the world why not have the most expensive sound system?

Later Tickford optioned cars SHOULD have been fitted with the Pioneer KEX-900 Centrate in place of the G-80, as this rack offered the option of CD as well. I've yet to verify this though.

Just a quick update to this thread since I have the interior of 13379 out.

The New York SQR 83 was the head unit, and has a separate four channel amplifier. There were two versions of this - one which was dash mount and one which was hidden. The Lagonda has the hidden one - Quadro Booster BQB 80.

If you ever have to remove them, you need to take out the center console as the head unit is bolted at the back, and the amplifier is bolted to a bracket underneath.
