Does anyone ever have a leak from the ac with water dripping ito passenger footwell?
Is this a blocked drain or excess condensation or both?
Remedies?

Hello Roger,

You can join what seems to be a growing band of owners with this problem.

The first thing to look into is blocked A/C drains, they are not that difficult to access, there is one at each front corner, remove the side trim pieces each side of the centre console to expose them.

But......................

It seems in some cases that it is a result of condensation forming on the outer casing of the box due to a failure (or lack of efficiency) of the insulation placed INSIDE the box by AM during construction. Getting to the inside of the box is fairly major work.

Once the A/C is made to work a bit more efficiently, especially in the hot and humid weather, the outer faces are becoming very cold and water is condensing out of the air onto them.

The solution (I hope) will be to lag the outer face of the box, especially the lower three inches or so and the base at each corner where the drains are.

David
