Gentlemen,

I thought this might interest you fellow Lagonda enthusiasts.

As some of you might know I am very passionate about 80's coachbuilt luxury cars, and back then most of these were based on the Mercedes W126 S-class. Sometimes these were modified beyond recognition, but always very expensive. These cars were often built for rich Scheiks, Americans and Japanese businessmen etc. and were completely tailored to the customers liking.

The following was posted on german messageboard last week, it is a page from an old catalogue of a firm named Car+Driver, located in Hamburg in the mid 1980's. What you see in red is a Mercedes 500SEC completely rebuilt as a Lagonda sports coupe.



I've never seen this car before, and I doubt we will see it resurface, but I must admit that the idea is not all bad
