I have a friend whose fuel flaps won't open.
I recall a thread where someone had a similar problem.
Does anyone remember who it was and how they resolved it? Possibly with a credit card?
Any help will be greatly appreciated. |

Yes, I had that problem two years ago and posted something on that.
The issue was resolved using a plastic ruler that I now keep in the car.
I used an eighth inch tapered ruler with a rounded out hedge ( to preserve paint) and gently fiddled arouond from the bottom of the door until I managed to release the latch. It took me about 1/2 an hour before I managed it and had to try both side before getting the hang of it. Afterwards I greassed-up the moving parts (latch) and tighten the hex screw that holds the latch to the rod. Further more, I went from the inside, above the rear seats to grease-up the motor and the rods to give it all more smoothness in the movement. I have not had the problem gain since.

Apparently it worked with a plastic ruler & a torch helped.
Thanks. |

Good!
Hopefully the paint did not get scratched.
Torch? Flashlight or something like a 'blowtorch'?
