|
|
Greetings Everyone.
Getting a distinct ticking sound that appears to be coming from the "resonator" that is below the right-side front seat.
Thought originally it may be a leaking exhaust manifold, but upon very close examination, cannot find any evidence of leakage at the manifold or any of the other exhaust system joints. Plus the sound appears to be clearing coming from inside (?) the "resonator/muffler" under the front seat.
Being made of stainless steel, I'm reluctant to think something has corroded or broken inside. Nothing rattles even it I wack it hard with a mallet.
Anyone encounter something similar?
Thank you.

Hi
under the seat there is basically only small motors and
a lot of relays to move the seat.
Maybe one of the relays is damaged?
You could try to exchange all relays.

Hi Martin, the ticking is exhaust/engine related, with the pulsing coinciding with the engine rpms perhaps even one cylinder. Like a leaking manifold gasket sound (but my gaskets are new) and I've checked for leaks. Sounds like it comes from inside the resonator unit. I'm going to try to pull it off and see if anything has let go. Just think that a stainless unit would be more reliable... |
