059 has Auto Last front and back. Exclamation

Must state that all heating wires are horizontally, included 007-s Triplex.

With the great help of Roger I have been able to put the dated modifications in the approximate chassis number order. I say approximate because the cars were not built (or at least completed) in chassis number order. Sometimes adjacent chassis numbers were completed the same week, sometimes a month or more apart.

Currently at 128 edits on that post and I think we have most of it covered. I wonder if it would be appropriate to move on to the country-specific modifications - like the LFA spec engine and other quirks?

* USA spec.
* Swiss
* French

plus the Tickford body kit, limo etc.

Jon,
If 13380 is the first car fitted with CRT ( pilot facelift car ? ), CRT is standard from 13385.
13269 is the pilot face lift car fitted as 13284-on. Wink

Good point. I have corrected those two entries. Did this happen with the introduction of the VF dash or the revised body?

I don't think so. The first car with VF is 13505; the first S4 is 13540. FORD had already put some money in the business at this time, I think...

list says:

13058 on - heater valve revised to 2 port from 4 port, relocated to bulkhead

..so yours was the last 4 port one. 13277 has a 3 port one at the bulkhead but I am not sure of the exact change. In the list I have:

13288 on - boot lock striker plate deleted
??? on - heater valve changed to 3 port
??? on - revised vacuum reservoirs - now spherical
13294 on - revised door wiring protectors

I haven't seen this before. On the LHD cars, the brake pedal was modified in 1982 but I don't know why. There is no mention in the parts catalogue of the extension but if they are the same on both your cars it would be safe to assume it was a Works modification.

I noticed recently on 13379 that there are two mounting positions of the seat runners on the bottom of the seat base which will allow repositioning but I imagine this is for long legged drivers.

Correcting the tyres. I had stated the Centra wheels were fitted with Pirelli P7 tyres - these were specific to the BBS wheels option, even though it appears the Centras were wider than the previous pepperpots and the same width as the BBS ones:

About the RONAL Centra wheels :

From 13385 ( first S2 Mk3 ) to 13427/36 ( parts catalogue ), and on 13380 ( pilot CRT car ), the wheels were Centra machine-finished with black windows and clearcoat.
13385 was fitted with a rear bar and special (Tickford ?) equipments and was then fitted with 'normal' centra wheels ( due to transformation delay ?), like 13427,13430 and 13436.
13428 & 13434 got the 'black windows' wheels.
What about 13429/13431/13432/13433/13435 ( which is now fitted with aftermarket wheels ) ?

En français : je sais, je pinaille...
