For the first time since last sept. I filled the car up!
OMG! As a driver of an electric car I m no more used to it: 160 CHF!

So, what is the situation right now in UK. Especially with Ethanol. What sort of fuel do you recomend and can it be bought at any gas station?

See you soon!

Well my car was converted to unleaded (probably unnecessarily) a few years back and I use the higher octane U/L petrol.

Others may express a different opinion but I think the general view will be to use the higher grade (super/ultimate) unleaded fuel in our cars both here in the UK and on the Continent (whether the car was converted to U/L or not).

About Ethanol or bio-fuel, the share is about 5 to 10 % in petrol depending on the grade of petrol.
In my car, which is US-CAT, but without catalysts and air-pumps ( to save weight, not the planet ), I put Unleaded 98, sometimes 95 when 98 unavalaible.
I think the case is the same in Switzerland about petrol, because Switzerland doesn't have any oil raffinery on its ground, and has to buy petrol from another country.

Switzerland has two oil refineries. It has a much lower ethanol percentage ( may be even 0 ) in its fuels.
There have been many reports in swiss magazines which said that ethanol in fuel harms especially older engines. I've been recently to Luxemburg, Germany and France and I had the impression that in every of those countries the percentage of ethanol in fuel is different and especially that the percentage of 10% ethanol fuel gas stations varies.
I do not know what is right, so that is why asked what do the english in England?!
For my Lagonda I use 98 octane unleaded fuel with no ethanol ( or virtually no ethanol ) here in Switzerland.

My car was converted to unleaded fuel, (done by Ferrari if I remember the details in my paperwork correctly), before I bought her.

I aways fill up with the higher grade 98 of unleaded fuel.

Great information, thank you Dimitri!

So, I would suggest to everybody to use 98 octane fuel in their Lagonda cars.

The U.K. Super Unleaded grade is 97, not 98 as I previously stated.
