As most of you know, my Lagonda - Black Lightening was my daily driver from april to october since I bought it. From 2005 to 2010 it did drive me from home to work and back. No problems, no break downs.
Now that wonderful period is over. Another car will take over. It is not a Lagonda, but I call it White Lightening, anyway ( sorry Ossi - I just use the name in my family ).
It is a Tesla Roadster Sport 2.0 Signature Edition.
There is no problem with the Lagonda, but I am fascinated with the Tesla and somehow I have started to feel "sorry" for my Lagonda to drive it everyday, in any weather conditions...
But I'm sure that I will enjoy the sound of the Lagonda even more now, when I will be changing from Tesla electric "noise" to the V8! |

I would like to congratulate you on your new purchase, you will enjoy it I am sure. It is strikingly good looking and so silent...
While reading you piece just above, I could not help myself, as a stiffening of my throath started to set in.
Yes, I fear that one of the pillar of this community of ours is slowly drifting away from us towards the inevitable future of the auto industry.
I know now that in a bit, you will be completly immersed in this new way of travel and looking back at us, you will feel like the son reaching that age when it's time to leave the roost.
Well, with this strangulation feeling in my throath, I will say to you Zoran, that I, and probably all of us, loves you and will look at you in your new contraption with pride and joy.
Just let us know that you will still come back home every Sunday for the traditional family dinner... (snif...)
And that you will still be present at the Lagodafests of the future.

I drove a Tesla Roadster a while back - great car and you get the sensation of driving a toy car when having all that torque always at hand. I could not stop laughing while driving around
I have a contract on a Model S laying around, still haven't decided if I want it. _________________ Victor P.B.

I love you too! ( but do not come too close, now )
No need to feel sorry for the Lagonda or the community. My Lagonda will stay with me, and will still be joyfully driven, just not every day...
May be this is even better for the car it does not get abused!
And yes, father, I will be there every sunday, I might even pop in on saturday evening - just to ask for the car keys, of course! |
