Last I knew it was with Roger Bennington of Stratton Motor Co in Norfolk. He may still have it. |

Yes, very interesting pictures
- And two new pictures of the Saddam Hussein Lagonda (gold bling taken off - could it have been put back to "normal" by Aston Martin in 1988 ?)
Also, did you notice the Lagonda on the truck - in front of the Lamborghini Countach - the Lagonda's evil wedge twin

I have been researching the "Saddam car" for some time now since its outrageous nature fascinates me. We know that the car was built by the famous car tuner Styling Garage and was delivered to Iraq sometime around 1985, and as you see at the Facebook pictures apparently the car was back at Newport Pagnell in 1988 for some servicing.
Now what's interesting is that a very reliable source states that the car was serviced in the 1990's by Chris Hahn, the founder of Styling Garage - a company that by then was long defunct, but renamed Design+Technik. The car was then NOT owned by Saddam and neither by King Hussein of Jordan (who was apparently gifted a Lagonda by Saddam, the car that now resides in a Jordan museum). A less reliable source states that the crazy blue car was when it was serviced owned by an american gentleman. After this everything is blank and I still do not have a VIN.
This is interesting - as a big enthusiast of 1980s luxury tuning cars I have NEVER heard of a car being exported from Iraq during Saddams rule - which apparently this Lagonda might have been. There has been no parts from the car or bodyshell ever found since the US invasion either, when a lot of cars where stolen or looted...
The quest goes on... _________________ Victor P.B.

Hello Victor
I'm not sure that the Lagonda in Jordan (13384) was a gift from Saddam Hussein to the King of Jordan.......
http://www.royalautomobilemuseum.jo
- According to the description of the car on the official website above, the King of Jordan received the car as a birthday gift in 1984 from HRH Prince Zaid Bin Shaker. The dashboard was later upgraded to a later version (looks like a VF dash on the pictures).

I've readen somewhere that 2 Bulldog were built...The car pictured here hasn't the same interior that the one I have in many other books about Aston. Or was the car refurbished ? _________________ Welcome to Paradise ! (FRONT 242)

I understand that it was refurbished with a lot of gold. I think there is only one. |
