Since I'm 5 years old, I don't like ( dislike ?) any kind of Mercedes...
Since I'm 7 ( The Persuaders and Roger Moore/Brett Sinclair helped...), I like very much the Astons...while Tony Curtis had no success to turn me into fan of Ferrari ( But it was only a Dino ! ). Mercedes S-klasse ? Just say it's a joke ! No ? _________________ Welcome to Paradise ! (FRONT 242)

That is the direction the new management, allready with Ford, have taken.
They are making of Aston Martin just a brand, not a product.
I do not like it. An Aston Martin or a Lagonda should not be a disguised, Mercedes, Ford, Toyota, VW...

I'm not so troubled about Aston Martin using a MB S-class platform for a new Lagonda. We are not talking about a MB engine or MB design - only a PLATFORM - which you can't see
- Let's face it, even Rolls-Royce, Bentley, Jaguar, Lamborghini etc. use technology from other manufactures these days. Even engines!!! eg. VW engines in Bentleys, and BMW engines in Rolls-Royce.
A new Lagonda will be a very low volume car. So it will be way too expensive for Aston Martin to develop everything from scratch.
The S2, S3, S4 Lagonda was built using lots of parts from other manufactures as well.
Best regards,
Soren |
