I just bought a "new" car.
It is a Daimler DS420 Limousine 1975 ( Roger is allready questionning my taste of cars ).
And guess what, the inner door handles are exactly the same as in my Lagonda!
( And I got 4 spare ones with the car )

As I have a lot of matching parts with Lagonda in my head and also not so much time to work on my excel file about it, I confirm most of parts are coming from other british cars and mainly from XJ/XJS jags. I apologize for the delay I don't respect. Please ask in case of doubt. _________________ Welcome to Paradise ! (FRONT 242)

Unformally, but with the aim of being comprehensive, I propose to use this classification in my parts files:
S2A : No rear power windows ( until 13283 )
S2B : Pepperpot ( until ~ 13384 )
S2C : CRT
S3A : CRT + FI
S3B : VF +FI
S4 : when William Towns rounded the edges...
AMOC classification is then respected, and each car easy to recognise.
Then, 6 different cars with partially same parts all life long...

Does anyone know if the small rectangular glasses that are located in front of the side lamps, indicator, etc. are exchange parts from other makes. Has anyone got an idea where to get some to a reasonable price?

Sometimes, AML parts are not so expensive...
I think the part is specific, but made of simple glass( checked today on my 13295, now nearly dismantled at the bodyshop. The part could been self-made easily:ask a glazier to cut the same piece in simple window glass, and glue anti-theft screen on (inside) if you want to re-inforce it. The result would be similar to original. _________________ Welcome to Paradise ! (FRONT 242)

The car was promised back to me before end of june...but I saw yesterday it could be impossible
The bodyshop is closed on 18 july for holidays and they promised to have finished before. I said I had to go to Lindau on 15 august.
I think I will be there but a lot of things won't be done on my car for this time ( leather, airco, carpets, inside of boot, wood... )
I'll give a definitive response about the event first week of july. _________________ Welcome to Paradise ! (FRONT 242)

But In the parts catalogue, you'll find 'heated glass' and I remember to have seen a damaged Lagonda with screens which seem to have been made of laminated glass- broken in this case- so the anti- theft screen is a good and cheap solution. _________________ Welcome to Paradise ! (FRONT 242)

The glasses are usually heated. But broken on my car.
Tha unheated ones I could get via Puddleduck.
But the construction makes heated ones necessary, I guess.
AM don't have them, but they check anyway.
Let's see if it will be unheated ones after all.

Hi, this is my first post here. I've been in lust with Lagonda, the first origami shaped one with pop-up headlight, even since I've seen one in a car mag in the 80's.
Now, I want one myself, but I want to virtually specify my own requirements before actually getting one.
The first is the engine. I want V12. But I've noticed that virtually all the V12 engine cars are wider than Lagonda.
Jaguar XJS is quite a bit wider than Lagonda, so how would one go about fitting V12 in a Lagonda? _________________ Who decides what is moral? |

Nothing is impossible, but :
1. the ASTON V8 motor was modified before fitting in the Lagonda
2. when the engineers of Jaguar developped the XJ40, they made all possible to never fit the ROVER V8 in it , and so it was impossible to fit the 5.3 V12 too...
3. the Lagonda of Evel Knievel is fitted with a Chevrolet V8 Big Block, making this car a "Bitza"...
4. jag V12 : 276 HP_ Torque 42 mkg
ASTON V8 : 309 HP_ Torque 44 mkg ( with EFI )
5. Check if there's enough place...
6. Good luck !!!!!!!!!!!! _________________ Welcome to Paradise ! (FRONT 242)

With some little adaptations, the door rubbers of a RENAULT KANGOO fit the Lagonda. I tried it succesfully and the result is like genuine part. _________________ Welcome to Paradise ! (FRONT 242)
