| Julian of Puddleduck says that AML have just made the bumpers obsolete and that he is having them re-made in fibreglass so they can be painted colour coded to car or painted matt black. He is doing both early ones and the later/ USA spec. |

I bought last year a new one for the rear- US spec-, said to be a re-manufactured...

Yes from AML Belgium ( Heritage Center ); about 1100 € + VAT.
The front bumper was available too, but we repaired it. I bought the front under valence at the same time.

AML advise today
Front Bumpers are becoming an increasing problem as the supplier scrapped the mould / injection tooling after it became unusable,
the Rears will be in the same situation once sold out as no tooling exists.
Below is our current stock,
72-10002 Front early narrow type - no stock.
72-10003 Rear early narrow type - stock available.
72-17804 Front late / USA wide type - no stock.
72-17827 Rear late / USA wide type - stock available.
The Fronts could be moulded from fibreglass but we will need pristine examples of both to obtain quotes for tooling. |

Following an accident in 2012 AML could not supply me with a new (early) front bumper as they had no more in stock & the original moulds, tooling & materials are no longer available or allowed. They offered to make me one in fibreglass.
David Marks has had these remanufactured in fibreglass and my car now sports his/the prototype. He also proposes to remanufacture and supply the later versions, front & rear. |
