Do anybody have any knowledge of the water thermostats on S1cars that are marked Otter 58 000, but should the contacts be normally -closed- before reaching a temperature of 87 degrees.
does these thermostats simly operate the relays which in turn connects the fans, or are there any fancy elctronics system involved?

There is nothing electronic in the thermostat function. But there are two models ( one which opens at 82°(AML REF 095.003.0103), another one at 74° for hot countries (AML REF 095.003.0104). When you speak about S1, do I understand S2 first series ?; in any case never mind; engines are same with different specs.
All the functions and senders in the Lagonda are mecanic/analogue and their signal is 'transformed' by EPROMS, impulsions senders and so on.
The fans are operating through the senders placed on the radiator ( one on the left and 2 on the right side).
