|
|
I have just read that Honda will not race it's F1 car in 2009 and that they will sell the operation for a nominal fee.
The name of Dave Richards is brought up in connection with Prodrive, and possibly Aston Martin.
Could this possibly bring the name back to F1 racing?

There are so many rumours around this right now.
One rumour is that Citroen/Peugeot is interested in buyin the Honda F1 team. But at the same time there are runours about a merger Fiat and Citroen/Peugeot. And as you kno Fiat "owns" Ferrari.
Persoannlly IMHO I think Honda F1 would be a great oportunity to enter the F1 world, but I do not think anyone has the courag right now to invest the money.

Well said Zoran,
No one is suicidal enough in the auto industry to invest money in entertainment when they are cutting jobs at home...

So, are we going to buy?
We could shake things up a little bit! Make the new Lagonda happen and give him a wedge-design treatment...
No, seriously, bad news.

Zoran,
Fortunes are made when every body sees the situation at it's worst. If you decide to take the chance to buy in that that time, you will get the chance of a life time to make a fortune or you will invest into an asset that will keep on going down. In that later case, at least you were not the one taking the hit from the top.
It is clearly not the time to invest in luxury cars mfgr. How long will it take for the economic cycle to go back to boom, I don't know but luxury items will traditionaly be laggers in a recovery phase. I guess that people will need to build a coushion on their fortunes before thinking of investing in luxury cars again.
The worst is that the down phase is not yet at the bottom... We are almost there, but not yet. Maybe by March we will start to see the light at the end of the tunnel.
