13008 was the first lagonda sold, and "said" registered VNK 352 S ( as well in AMOC register as in Roger' register). This car is shown green...

We can see a red car in the (excellent and also available in french )book "ASTON MARTIN the ultimate story" which is said to have been sold to Lord and Lady Tavistock : 13008.

And now, check the pic and the comment in the article below :

http://cars.uk.msn.com/News/Top_ten_article.aspx?cp-documentid=9197328

Registration : VNK 353 S. So where is the mistake ?
And what was the correct VIN of VNK 352 S ? The same resprayed car ?

Mmmmh ?

Clearly more investigation is required.
I believe AML had both registration plates VNK 352S & VNK 353S
The Register(s) can be wrong!
I think the Tavistock car was red. The others could be factory publicity/library shots. Woburn was used as a location for photos. Some of the prototypes were repainted.
I am not certain though(yet).

The French article says....:

Par ailleurs, l'excellent livre "ASTON MARTIN : UNE FABULEUSE HISTOIRE" présente la voiture livrée aux époux Tavistock ainsi -elle est devenue rouge ! :

...it turned red.... Smile

Quite right, but I'm the autor of the french article...and so I don't know what is true Sad Sad Sad

We have VNK 352 S ( green ) said to have been sold to the marquess of Tavistock ( AMOC register ), and we have a pic of VNK 353 S ( red, color choiced by Lord and Lady Tavistock ) when delivered...
Strange isn't it ?

I am going to change the Registers to show VNK 353S as 13008 (Red).
VNK 352S (Green) needs more research!

My gallery contains 2 pictures of the green car filed as 13008. I placed the pictures there based on the information about the reg. no in Rogers register.

I noticed that the dash is black on one of the pictures, and gray on the other.

Soren

Can you amend the gallery to show VNK 353S red as 13008? (pic above supplied by Vincent)

Roger,

Yes, it's easy to replace the 2 pictures of the green Lagonda with the red one. I will do it when I update the online gallery in the coming weeks. I haven't uploaded a new version of the gallery for quite some time, but I have added a lot of pictures to my own version.

- And the 2 pictures of the green one will be transfered to the "unknown" section of the gallery until you have cracked the case Smile

Best regards,

Soren

Just an idea...imagine VNK352S ( green ) is 13007 (plausible with the sequence of reg. numbers) before conversion to LHD ?
Same black leather...

No way Jose, as I own 007, EXEPT ????????!!!!!!!! Confused

This is a theory I have for years, 007 is the renumbered 005 after its conversion to LHD, why? Idea

005 is disappeared, the engine in 007 is numbered 13005
and lots of unused electrical connectors at the weardest possible places.

Harry

It's a prototype so expect some weird items. Surely 13007 is 13007 but with 13005's engine in it. Wasn't 007 a LHD conversion/USA test car in which case the engine might have been tested to destruction over there?
But let's not assume anything.
