Being my daily driver I took "black lightening" ( name cortesy of Ossi ) to a more then 300 kilometers trip today.
Everything worked fine even when torrendous rain poured down the car was superbe ( when it cleared up I made this video with my iPhone: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ea9TRlf9poA ).
When I had to refuel, the car did not want to lock the doors ( I have remote locking system ) with neither of the remote controls.
When I restarted I had no more cold air from the A/C.
As I was passing ROOS engineering I called them if I could stop by to show the problems.
It dried up and suddenly I had cold air again and when arriving at ROOS the locking mechanism worked, too!
I guess Roos has telemetrics in my car...
The consumption was 18,5 litres / 100 Km

I think I know thw source of your problem.
Water enters from the windows to the inner of the doors and that humidity creates havoc on the electricals all over the car. When all dries up it start to work fine again until corrosion gets to it. I suggest that you open the inner door panels and see it that is the case.
