I think the aircon' gas in the factory was R12. Now unavailable, is the system also operating - without attempting failures -with R134, with the change of some leadings ?
Any experience ? Thanks for your comments...

Hey Vincent, no problem with the new stuff, you just need two replacement connectors for the high and low pressure lines and a new "dryer".

For the oil you can get special retrofit spec too, the name/type I can't
recall at this moment,( tonight I will if you want )

If you still don't trust it you can ask for 412 (specially for retro-s) but personally I think it comes unhandy when one has to refill later.

I have been using freeze 12 for years since there is some risk of seal damage without doing a full flush and converting to R134. It works just fine.

Nice day today !
The air conditioning of my car works !
But just to optimize the system, can someone tell me the exact quantity of R134 to put in ?
With 700 grams, the compressor switches always on/off.
Any idea ?
Thanks

We put about a kilogram in 007, but it has a twin set.
But its a trial and error thing it was not designed to run with the 'new'gas,
so do an 850 and run it again.

Vincent, I think you need more. Assuming it was empty, then you would need at least 32-36 ounces to fill. You can use the cheapo gauges that come with the R134 cans, it will suffice to tell you if you are over pressurized.

Does your car have the a/c compressor full button? This would be a blue button located on the left of the dash where the hazard switch is. If this is on and the compressor is cycling, you are low freon or you have an a/c component problem.

There should be a wire from the compressor to the relay (type "C") on the programmer. If that is constantly hot and the compressor is cycling then it is low on freon. Otherwise, I will start looking for the AC documentation because you are going to have to start trouble shooting the programmer.
