406 being a very fine 10-feet car

After close inspection a few rust spots were found that needed welding.
Before starting this the dash and it's electronics were removed for not to be damaged

See what was found when car is being dismantled.

Rust on a Lagonda can be funny, outer halfs of floors both in bad state, but
prone to rust front bar is tops.

O K next is the left side, supposed to be the better side as it had been done before. Turns out to Bill Towns meet Fred Flintstone

To start with solid metal means grind back to where there is no rust!

Back in goes centre section of sill, as you can see all posts are braced together to avoid distortions

Next is floor section followed by inner sill

And outer sill to keep it simple

Last in are brace plates and seat supports.
To be followed by finishing C-post as per right side, grinding all welds, sealing them and put on several rust proofing before it is of for paint

It would probably be a good idea to Dinitrol the whole thing at this point to avoid a return ticket in 10 years' time...

Finished almost ready for paint

last piece of metal work ,putting the fender part back in

While car is of for paint now a little detail to be fixed, the backplate / cover of rear doorlatch.
Slightly altered from original, bottom side now at a 45 degrees angle so there will not again be trapped for ever moisture in it

Not much to be seen on drying of paint but this is the second layer of filler.
At the moment the paint crew is busy flattening it prior to paint end of week.
