Aston Martin Lagonda original design drawing by William Towns, circa 1981

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/161929991970

"Original A2 Design drawing by William Towns, designer of the Aston Martin Lagonda, of a 2 door coupe version of the Lagonda. The drawing was done as part of a presentation to Aston Martin Lagonda to try and sell the idea of producing a coupe version of the 4 door Lagonda. However there was little appetite for the project and it was not taken further. Pastel and chalks on black paper, protected by flaps (with William Towns logo pressed in) and in very good condition. A small piece of history."

Anyone have the guts to bring a wedge to Harry and have it build from scratch?. Cool

Angry! Wanted it and intended to bid but distracted and left it too late! Why is it my wife always wants me to do something when ebay auctions are ending? I think a bargain. Hope it went to a good home. Shame on me. Sad

A shame indeed, wanted to bid but thought you were THE best custodian for this important item of Towns Memorabilia so refrained from bidding.

My fault really as I was all fingers and thumbs on my mobile as out. I should have put in a max bid earlier. I'll try and establish who has it.

I bid on both of these items. I was out at the end and placed what I thought was a reasonable bid in advance, but didn’t get them. Clearly we have a Lagonda lover/collector out there. The seller should be happy.
Saved me a bit.

Surrealistic prices indeed !
But the treatment of the back could be interesting knowing that the rear lights are now out of stock at AML in case of an accident...to be studied...

What did Robert Jankel from Panther WestWinds do on the Lagonda ???

When Towns was working on a Jensen F type project :

very similar to the drawings sold on ebay, and some Lagonda sketches are already present ( in early 70's )

Interesting Vincent. Towns was quite prolific. True originality is rare. We are all influenced by others. No one had a monopoly on straight lines. But, at least, the Wedge was conceived and then actually built.

The Jensen F-type drawings look very similar to the Maserati Indy of the early 70's
