So funny to see two of the rarest cars on earth right next to each other, and Ive owned them BOTH. In the USA, there are only 6 known Maserati Kyalami's out of a total production of 188 cars over a 7 year run. |

Sorry, but you guys are incorrect. The wheels, the shape of the rear quarter window and the bumper tell you immediately it is a Maserati Kyalami, not a DTL. You cannot be serious to not recognize those wheels. |

In fact we are all right.
kyalami is a restyled (by Frua) DT L and with maserati engine
Kind of badge enginering (an other great British invention ?!@&. ) |

Sorry, but a DTL is simply not a Kyalami, although yes, its partly badge engineering. The fact that the engine is completely different is more important.

You will also notice the windshield wipers are partially hidden by the engine hood. This did not exist on the DTL as its engine hood was a completely different size and aperture than its Kyalami twin. The wipers on a DTL are fully exposed as the engine hood did not extend to the windshield. Between the bumpers, the wipers, the wheels, and the fact I was a Kyalami owner, it's case closed. You are looking at a Maserati Kyalami |

Funny you would act like an authority when you clearly know nothing about these cars. You cant even identify OBVIOUS Maserati wheels? Thats pretty laughable for someone making comments. Anyone who knows anything about 1970's Maserati's can identify those wheels in two seconds. They look nothing like the DTL's. Become a true aficionado before you pontificate |

Steelydave39 is right, it is a Kyalami.
BTW the car is displayed on the homepage of the Classic Car Club of Hong Kong (3 May 2015). _________________ Christoph |
