Zoran writes:

Soon we will start the Lagonda engines again!
The organizers are looking very much forward to meet you soon in Switzerland!

We expect you on thursday 27.8. between 11.30 and 12.30 at the Emil Frey Classics Center, Bahnhofstrasse 14, 5745 Safenwil, Switzerland. Parking is reserved at the interior courtyard.
There, we will be able to visit the new classic car museum, the Swiss Classic Car register, the Emil Frey Classics sales room and will have a tour of the very new facilities of Roos Engineering, the Aston Martin Heritage Center. We might have a surprise there, too for you!

Please refuel the car before coming to Safenwil. There are fuel stations after the exit of the Autobahn.

We will leave Safenwil around 14.00 direction Gstaad. This drive will be long ( 2 hours ) same as the last drive on sunday. But we look at it as part of your journey to the event and would like to show you a wonderful way to get into and out of the mountains! The drives on friday and saturday will be beautiful, but short! The detailed program you will receive in your room in Gstaad.

If you can not make it to Safenwil, and you drive directly to Gstaad, please inform me.
If you can not make it on sunday to the farewell lunch ( 12.oo to 14.00 ) in 1715 Alterswil at Arthur Sutsch’s collection, please inform me, too!

There are people attending without a Lagonda who might travel during the event in a Lagonda, if you have seats available in your car, please inform me.

Attached is a file with some useful informations.

Have a safe trip!

I should just like to congratulate and thank Zoran again for organising such a wonderful meeting.

Also I should like to thank Arthur, Francis and Urs for their important contributions.

Thanks too to Beat Roos & Rene Gauch for their hospitality and assistance.

Thanks too to Mark Gauntlett & Tina Brenner for bringing a Taraf.

And we should not forget the ladies either who were also involved. Priska, Petra, Lise, Renata and Nadja. This could not have happened without them.

Just to refresh our memories, briefly:

Thursday 27th August

We met at midday at the new premises of Emil Frey/Roos Engineering at Safenwil where we had lunch and a tour. We drove through the Simmental to our accommodation the Grand Bellevue Hotel in Gstaad where we had a fine dinner.

Friday 28th August

We drove a scenic route to Gruyere where we visited the castle and the Giger Museum followed by a local lunch. In the afternoon we visited the Cailler chocolate factory before returning to the hotel by an alternative route. In the evening we enjoyed a fondue in the Roessli Hotel in Gstaad.

Saturday 29th August

We visited a local military airfield where there was an airshow and we were allowed to tour a Swiss military bunker complex inside the mountain. After lunch there we went up the Wispile cable car in Gstaad and enjoyed fine views of the mountains.

The new Taraf was at the hotel for all to see courtesy of Aston Martin.

In the evening we had our Gala Dinner in the Gstaad Yacht Club. Impressive surroundings. Alpenhorns to greet us. Fine food and wine. Natalia Wohler sang and provided the music.
Prizes were awarded and gifts were given. It was a great party.

Sunday morning via a scenic route (for some) we visited Arthur’s property in Alterswil , viewed his collection and had a fine Swiss lunch before departing.

Michael kindly mentioned our friend Sieghard a Lagonda owner in Lindau and founder participant in 2005 but who could not be with us. Sieghard suffered a severe stroke in 2014 and is making a slow recovery. We send him our best wishes.

Our commiserations go to Michael & Gina for the failure of their Lagonda Coupe and to Johan for his DB7. Hopefully both can be repaired soon.

The sun shone and we consumed a lot of Swiss cheese! Marvellous!

Nicole & I had the pleasure of travelling to and from Switzerland with David & Sue, Keith and Val and Robert. It would not be the same without them. Thanks to them too.

We got together with old friends and met new ones. The Lagonda family is alive and well.

Please post your pictures here or send them to me and I’ll do it for you.

Very Happy
