Newsletter #1: LagondaFest 2019

2019 LagondaFest in the Dutch Achterhoek region

In 2019, we shall enjoy again the pleasant company of our Lagonda friends old and new, and meet in the Dutch Achterhoek from Thursday August 22nd till Sunday August 25th.

The Achterhoek (Dutch pronunciation: [??xt?r?uk]; Dutch Low Saxon: Achterhook) is a region in the eastern part of the Netherlands.
Its name (meaning "rear-corner") is geographically appropriate because the area lies in the easternmost part of Gelderland, and therefore in the east of the Netherlands, protruding into Germany. The Achterhoek area lies between the rivers IJssel and Oude IJssel, and the borders with the province of Overijssel and Germany the former region of Zutphen County. The region is predominantly rural, with much open space, forests and farms.



We hope very much that you could join us for this event.

Our base will be at Boetiekhotel BonAparte in the small city of Barchem.
Meeting point will be at the Gallery Aaldering in Brummen at around 12:00 pm on Thursday August 22, 2019.

More details will follow as soon as possible.

Thursday August 22nd

We have the possibility to look around and a lunch will be served in The Gallery Grand Cafe.
After this we drive through the beautiful landscape of De Achterhoek to our hotel to check in.
Welcome cocktail starts at 6 p.m. to be followed by a dinner at the hotel to discover local food.

Friday August 23rd
After breakfast, we drive through scenic roads to Haaksbergen. Here we pay a visit to Museum Buurtspoorweg, www.museumbuurtspoorweg.nl/en/visit-the-museum/ followed
by a lunch in Haaksbergen.
After lunch we drive to Enschede for a visit to the Grolsch brewery

Saturday August 24th
Saturday we will visit the old Hanseatic cities of Deventer, Zutphen and Doesburg.

The program for the upcoming Lagonda Festival in NL is almost complete. It is now time to register for this festival.
We were able to maintain the costs for the festival at € 1,500 per couple.
Registration Terms and Conditions

1. Registration dues
Registration dues
All rooms will be reserved on a 1 st come, 1 st PAY IN FULL basis.
The registration dues amount to:
• Couple: € 1,500
• Single: € 1,100
Registration closes on 31 March 2019.
The registration dues are payable only by bank transfer using the bank details as defined below. The registration becomes effective when all dues are paid.
The registration fees are due as follows:
? 50% advance due no later than 31st March 2019
? Balance due no later than 31st May 2019

3. Cancellation policy

Cancellation must be notified in writing to the following address: margievrije@gmail.com
Cancellation periods are calculated from the date of arrival, i.e. 22 August 2019.
Cancellation charges are calculated on the basis of the registration dues as follows:

30 to 15 days prior to arrival 75% of dues
15 days or less prior to arrival 100% of dues
No show / Cancellation without notice
In case of no show or cancellation without notice, the cancellation charges amount to
100% of the registration dues.
Extras
All additional expenses and services, of whatsoever nature, incurred by a participant during his/her stay at the hotel must be paid directly by him/her before his/her departure from the hotel.

Legal responsibility
The organizer rejects any liability for damage to persons, property and assets that happens to the participants (drivers and passengers) before, during and after the meeting.
By registering the participants renounce the right, for themselves and their
relatives, to act against or to take recourse to the courts against the organizer and any other person involved with the organization of the meeting, for any damage suffered resulting directly or indirectly from the meeting. The participants take part in the meeting at their own risk and bear the civil and criminal responsibility for all damage caused by their vehicles

Val & I are really looking forward to the event.

As my car was completely "Out Shone" last year by Dimitri's car, I may well enter my car in for the new "Most Dusty Car" trophy. I have had the good fortune to be the first winner to be awarded 2 of the trophies: "White Lightning" and the "Lagonda of the Year", so I think a hat-trick of being the 1st Winner appeals to me.
