I really wonder how many 100% perfect CRT cars like mine are left in the world. #13428 is 100% original with its original CRT's. EVERY switch works, every display works, the voice feature works, EVERY SINGLE THING in the car WORKS. Who are these complete idiots who RUIN these cars by putting analog gauges and making other alterations? I made goddamn sure this car was restored to a state of complete perfection with NO changes from original. THAT is the correct way to own a Lagonda. We are more than car owners. We are PRESERVATIONISTS. If you are unwilling to be so, please dont buy the damn thing. We do not need another Lagonda with analog gauges and a Chevy motor because the owner is an undeserving asshole like the rest |

Hi Dave
Where are you located?
Yes, you are right. And yes I would claim that 13417, my car, is like that! |

CRT's on 13385, 13406 & 13414 all working 99.9%
Completely agree with Dave, a car should as much as possible remain close to 100% original for the purist will always be rewarded in the end... |

I fully agree, but :
1. I would like to fit ABS on mine ( security )
2. I would like to upgrade mine to a 7 litre conversion, with the Ronal wheels (POW) too...
Or fitting a modern Borla-injection on it...( costs less than the 7L-conversion with sensibly same results )
3. I would like to change this jurassic Torqueflite gearbox into a modern ZF 5-speed or up.
Do you think it would be a crime ? _________________ Welcome to Paradise ! (FRONT 242)

Vincent,
I have deleted you from my contact/friends' list
and chances are your own Lagonda will probably no longer "talk" to you...

Keep calm, guys, keep calm !
IMHO the Torqueflite is nevertheless a jurassic gearbox and a more modern gearbox would afford more driving pleasure...
RSW 7.0L why not, but the Borla...surely a bad upgrade ! Put then a Chevy block ! _________________ Welcome to Paradise ! (FRONT 242)

I'm in New York City to answer one of you. Mitrovic, I think your car has LCD screens, not CRT's, correct?. That is not original, I'm sorry. I would never do that to my car. My car has 100% perfect original CRT's. Im probably one of only a few in the world. I can understand wanting a modern gearbox, ABS brakes etc, but no, you should not do it. That is not preserving history. That is catering to your personal tastes and desires. I too wish it had 5 or 6 speeds. I wish it had ABS. I wish it had 200 more hp, but it doesn't have any of those things... therefore... that is exactly as it must remain. I am an absolute purist, and will never understand owners who are not |

Not Mitrovic, but Vincent. I agree those cars need to be preserved as original as possible. Nevertheless, the idea of another gearbox wouldn't defigurate the car and improves the driving pleasure; in any case the old gearbox needs to be kept as to remain the car as original to a potential future owner.
I was just trying to excite friends with Borla ...
The RSW 7.0 L conversion on V8's is a valuable fitting. Some Lagondas are fitted so too. _________________ Welcome to Paradise ! (FRONT 242)

Brookman, I am not a connoisseur on series III cars, but I think your lid lock
in the glove box looks strange and your radio is surely not correct (neither Blaupunkt nor contemporary). Apart from that you are dead right.
Merry Christmas! _________________ Christoph |
