I received over the weekend the sad news of Penn’s death from a heart attack on 4th October.

Penn who lived in Harden NSW was a founding member of the Lagonda (Club) Group in Australia and a supporter for over 50 years.

I came to know him as he wrote about and recorded details of 'Wedge' Lagondas downunder and generously shared his knowledge and information with me. A true enthusiast, he finally bought his own 'Wedge' last year.

Information received today.

The funeral service of Robert Penn Bradly will held on Monday 13th October 11:00 am at the Harden Murrumburra Uniting Church, cnr Derby and Binalong Sts, Harden NSW, followed by a graveside service at the local cemetery.

Later the life of Robert Penn Bradly will be celebrated at the Harden Bowling Club.

Robert Penn Bradly, lifelong supporter of all things Armstrong Siddeley has passed away. He was preparing to drive to Melbourne for the coming weeks’ activities of the Armstrong Siddeley Car Club of Australia, when he was taken by a heart attack on the morning of 4th October. Penn, as he was known to so many in the Armstrong Siddeley community, had written many books and was a fountain of knowledge on the marque. His enthusiasm, help and support will be greatly missed. Our deepest sympathies are with his wife Miriam and family.

'Robert Penn Bradly passed away on Sunday 4th October 2014
He was 77 years of age.
Robert Penn Bradly was a car enthusiast, a writer and publisher of books and
articles about cars and a member of several car clubs. Penn’s collection of
notes and data over many years was made available to the L.A.G. This treasure
trove of collected information included models, years, types, registration plates,
names of current and former owners. This allowed contact to be made with
many Lagonda owners, most of whom support our Lagonda Australia Group.
Thank you Penn Penn also had the ability to communicate his passion for cars to his wife Miriam
and children Caroline, Andrew and Warwick, and they developed an
enthusiasm and keen interest in cars. This same passion enthused many
people with whom Penn associated and was responsible for a swell of interest
in English cars over the years.
Penn was a self trained mechanic, spray painter, panel beater and upholsterer
and did the work on his cars himself. His particular skill and knowledge about
Armstrong Siddeleys was shared widely with all who sought information or help.
Penn shared his accumulated knowledge with our Group gladly. He supported
our endeavours to establish a discrete Lagonda marque Group in Australia to
the full.
Penn had other skills he was an estate valuer, property developer, auctioneer,
music shop owner, rental car franchisee, building society manager and TAFE
teacher.
He belonged and contributed to his local community. He was a member of
Rotary, the Harden Hospital Advisory Board, the Anglican Church, and Harden
High School.
But Penn’s outstanding attribute was that he loved his wife Miriam and
delighted in the achievements of his children.
Robert’s was a life well lived, and lived to the full. His marque dedication is
legendary. His acquisition of a William Towns car was his ultimate achievement!'
