thanks Harry but not necessary
the wipermotor is in good shape according to the refurbishing company.
they checked the balljoints and one of them was very very hard to move causing the problem. I found a local company that supplys these balljoints for 30 euro/pc so I changed 2 of them and will now install the whole mechanism again in the car durin the easter weekend, will let you know the outcome .best regards

Isn't the key and the lock from an Opel ( or was it Ford )?
The electric windows mechanism from a Ford?
The door handle from Jaguar XJ?

VF dash is from Opel? - But I don't know which model(s).

hello, the wipers work perfectly again, juist in time for the big snowfall. Yesterday i was happily cruising towards work through 10cm of snow (with the snowtires, the lagonda sits like a rock ) when suddenly the engine stalled. I pulled over thinking i ran out of gas so I switched to fuel but no result. After fiddling with the car i called the garage. They found that the coil did not receive any electricity anymore. Fuses looked allright and they found the little aluminum box , placed at the front of the right hand front wing , near the lamps to be the culprit. Its the box that amplifies the current going to the coil. So they shortcircuited the box by making a connection from the fusebox to the coil to keep me driving while we wait the replacement box to arrive. Also when waiting for the garagepeople to arrive i found that the relais close to the bonnet release mechanism on the left hand side of the car was badly corroded. So it's wise to check the relais every now and then . So far from the belgian front. Have a nice week. Bernard |

Zoran and Soren you're wrong so no winning the fridge.
Inner handles are not jag (they're used in the V8') but handmade from cupbord hinges(really)
Outer handles are Granada not Taunus I guess (Jags are on the early V8 again)
Plastic air vents are killing me ,I've seen them so much but can't recall them
but must be BLMC , princess or allegro?
So much on this I'll think of some more.

I can confirm outdoor locks are coming from REAR doors of FORD CONSUL/GRANADA MKI ( 72-75 ) on S2 and S3. On S4, locks are common with contemporary FORD's SIERRA/ESCORT/SCORPIO. Inner locks on S2 before 13284 I don't know, but from 13284 they are same as the ones of a XJS.
In the S2- from 13284-, the knobs for power windows and seats are current FORD parts ( GRANADA ); before 13284, it was custom made for the LAGONDA. _________________ Welcome to Paradise ! (FRONT 242)

Hello everyone
having just purchased a Lagonda series 2 in Britain, I will have to change the headlamps etc. to central European standards. I read that the indicators to this car are the same as those of MG / MGB. What about the headlamps? Will I have to exchange them all?

Even better, the RHD headlamps can be changed to LHD just by
turning the light bulb This can be done easily as the bulb holder is disconnectible from the missor(done this to all 3 of mine).
Otherwise it's simple too as these lights are so called universals, just go to the Hella Bosch or Valeo dealer and get 4 new ones ,they cost next to nothing

Et la lumière fut...
After control, Matra Bagheera headlights don't fit...
Another question : the inside air vents look like the ones of the Matra Rancho, any experience ? I need 2 ,no more provided by AML, and quite a little bit expensive at Puddleduck... _________________ Welcome to Paradise ! (FRONT 242)

I am missing 2 parts from the interion of my series 2 Lagonda. maybe you can tell me were to get them.
To lock the car from the interior there are little aluminium tuggles pointing down in the middle of the door panel. the aluminium head is a screw on. I am missing one. Anyone know were to get a replacement?
Also in the center console in the back is the AC control unit. one dial is a 3 or 4 position knob. I am aslo missing that. I don't even know what it looks like. |

Try AML ( some prices for specific parts are less expensive you think ! )
knob : ref 89.18115
switch : ref 89.18114
Can you send me a pic of the other part (door lock)? _________________ Welcome to Paradise ! (FRONT 242)

Thanks
I just did call the AML dealer in Montreal and I was told that the lock door knob is available at a price like $5.00 the AC control knob is back order and will also likely cost $5.00. So I placed the order. |

Has anyone figured out where the outside mirrors were sourced from? My RH side coil has rotted away and I'd like to repair it.
