I'm new to Lagondanet but have a very nice 84 that needs a few parts. I'm looking for a switch stalk and also the membrane switches for both sides of the dash. I can get new switches manufactured but the first set of two will run to about $1,500. After that they will be quite reasonable.
Any interest in the switches? Any sources for the switch stalk?
Best Regards,

Welcome Bob!
The stalks are Lucas parts, but I have not looked into the cross-compatibility with other models on this part. There were about four different ones used including a change in 1984. I found on my 1984 13379 that the plastic where it clamps to the column was broken making the stalks loose. I was able to repair it by glueing and screwing a piece of aluminium to it.

For the LED dash cars, there seem to be three different sets of stalks used with changes at 13072, 13186. They all seem to look the same, but the earlier ones have separate switch units for the left and right stalks and clamp on to the column in a different way.
With the CRT cars, they changed to square section ones.
On 13277 and 13379 they have round ends. The Range Rover ones seem to have square ends - Lucas part number 30423 / SQB187 for the indicator one.
Mine (13277):

David Marks states
You may want to caution that the binnacles are different for RHD
and LHD cars.
Also, the font is different for earlier cars (whatever VIN number
that is!).
It was myself that spent the time researching and having them
manufactured and sell them alongside Puddleduck.
(David may have some available. david@davidmarksgarages.co.uk) |

Lucas lists SQB113 and 35414 which are square ended for the SD1 (1983 to 1987).
I had a trawl through the AMOC forum and the suggestion for the S3 V8 was:
The Lucas part nos. are:
RHD 30514 and 30512 for the turn signal etc and screen wipe respectively, and
LHD 30515, 30513
..but to match you had to disassemble and transfer your stalk onto the new switch, and possible alter the connectors.
I can't find a reference to these Lucas part numbers in a recent catalogue, so I can't tell what cars they are from. However, it looks like there is no direct match. |

I have a spare used washer stalk/switch.
Marked Lucas, 30512A-1279
Not sure if this is off my car (13049) or another.
