From memory, I think when you disengage DSC you get a message on the dash info display.

I once had DSC and ABS disable themselves due to a fault on my DB9. Out of interest, and on a clear wet road in third gear at 20mph I put my right foot down to see what the effect would be. The car was very quickly approaching 45 degrees as the back let loose. From then on, I have been very respectful of the system, and I would never turn it off!
