|
|
My Lag has been at Autosport Designs in the US since late June, having work done so she will be ready for next Summer.
Hit problems with the CRT instruments - they still all display but the read-outs don't happen - the bar graphs don't budge, the fuel and temp diplays don't regsiter
Antoine tells me that the gauge control unit is not working an AML don't have any. How am I going to get around this - can it be fixed and by who? any chance I can get another?. Any ideas at all will help at this stage _________________ Registrar of Cars, AMHT |

I've spoken to David every day since Saturday
The good news is that the screens work - it's the computer that has intermittant faults. David has told me that there is some corrosion on the boards/chips which is causing poor contacts. So, David is replacing all the chips (60 I believe) and see if that helps. Worse case is if the chips have to be all hand soldered into place (instead of push fitted). If so, that's when the big bills start to roll in
I've also had the power supply changed and better insulation between the boards
I saw going to see the car yesterday and I could get some pictures BUT the snow was heavy and it would have been foolish to have made the journey _________________ Registrar of Cars, AMHT |

What worries me is that, totally understanably, David cannot give any guarantees. It's the uncertainty I cannot deal with.
The Lag was my first car crush - is my Lag just a itch I had to scratch OR is it a commitment for life with an open cheque book? _________________ Registrar of Cars, AMHT |

Very nice picture!
So, you have now the original screens working?
My car has also CRT screens. Two years ago, one failed, now another does not work properly, I hope Roos will be able to fix it without a huge bill.... |

Yes indeed - everything works fine. Tiny bit of intereference on odd occasions but otherwise, smashing. 'All systems go!'
Been out in it again today - did some detailling, still have the delightful smell of Gliptone on my hands _________________ Registrar of Cars, AMHT |
