Hi to all,
This week, I had the chance to take place in the driver seat ( but not to drive with ) from two new four-door and four-seater sportscars, which will be in hard competition in the next years :
the ASTON MARTIN RAPIDE and the PORSCHE PANAMERA.
The PANAMERA is certainly less expensive, but the design, although the car is well better 'in the flesh' than on the pics, is fat and heavy. The ( large/tall ) rear passengers have enough place for the legs and knees and the car is well completed. Already on the road for about 110.000 €...
The RAPIDE is the worthy successor of the ( our ) LAGONDA - or at least considered so by the sales forces of ASTON. A very very nice and fine car, pure in its design, which gives enough place for tall guys on the rear seats, and I would even say a little bit more than in the Lagonda...
First deliveries in april from 182.000 €

Looking at how the banking industry is bouncing back, my banker has a lot more chances of getting his hands on a Rapide than I do ! But I will ask, still....
More seriously, the Rapide is gorgeous. However it hasn't got the same gravitas and 'out of this world' presence as the Lagonda. I wish AM would come up with a true successor, as shocking as the original. Not in the sense of last year's SUV concept of course. Now that was truly 'Shocking'! |
