Message: Hello Gentleman, Looked at and decided to purchase an 1989 VIN 13573. The car was purchased new from Aston Martin of Connecticut. The selling dealership in Baltimore informed me that the car has 15,000 miles. The interior, paint, body, engine compartment, etc., reflect the 15,000 miles. HOWEVER, the digital dash odometer shows 150,000 miles. The dealer rep then proceeded to repair the dash by removing the entire dashboard. Does anyone have any suggestions, and contact information about repairing/restoring the bad odometer reading? Is the digital dashboard a headache? Thank you very much. Best Regards, Michael | |

When first driving it, I noticed that although the odometer did not have a formal decimal point, the last digit actually represented fractions of a mile (or km). That number quickly incremented while driving, so although on first glance the total mileage appeared to be at least ten times greater than it actually was, the odometer was actually functioning correctly which became apparent after driving it for a while. Forgive me if this is not the issue with your car, but I thought that I would mention it in the event that this experience could save you considerable trouble. Best regards, Chris |
